Everything You Need To Know About Eden Whale Festival 2019 (1st – 3rd November)
Voted as one of the top places in Australia for whale watching, Eden holds an annual festival to celebrate these majestic animals as they travel south during the migration for Australia’s premier whale celebration.
The streets of Eden will be transformed into a festival parade, with live shows and outdoor entertainment for all, plus the best local food and wine of the Sapphire Coast. It’s one of the biggest weekends in Eden, and one not to be missed!
Friday 1st November – The Festival Launch
Spend the first day of the festival learning about these creatures from the best local guides in Eden. For a closer look we highly recommend you follow one of the chartered boats, you may even spot a dolphin! Or stay dry on land and bring some binoculars as there’s plenty of vantage points along the cost of Eden and Twofold Bay (our Eden Beachfront Holiday Park has impressive views so you can literally roll out of bed!).
Don’t miss out on the Official Opening of the Eden Whale Festival 2019 by the Eden Killer Whale Museum at 1.30pm.
Indulge in some afternoon tea while enjoying music from local school students and artists, plus it’s a great time to explore the museum and to learn about Eden’s fascinating history with killer whales.
From 5.30pm onwards catch seven great exhibitions from local artists, taking place at the launch of the Port Authority Art and Exhibition Centre, supported by Wheelers Seafood Restaurant. There will be more live music, drinks and Wheeler’s renowned Sydney Rock Oyster’s harvested fresh from the local waters in Eden.
Saturday 2nd November – The Big One
Start the day early as the Australian Kite Flying Society showcases a number of kites at various locations around the town. There will be kite-making workshops, or you can bring your own kite and have a go.
