Just a quick 40-minute drive from Eden and you’ll find yourself in Bega, the unofficial cheese capital of Australia! Learn about how dairying began way back in the 1850s and the cheesemaking process at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, you’ll even get to taste the delicious results! Make sure you stop by the Bega Valley Regional Gallery to take a look at their latest exhibit, entry is free Monday-Friday!

Less than half an hour from Eden, Merimbula is an enchanting seaside town on the sparkling coast that offers visitors rugged ocean beaches, tranquil coastal lakes, and a huge range of activities perfect for the whole family. From sharks to shrimp, octopus, and tropical fish, it’s all on display at the Merimbula Aquarium! Make sure to stop by when its fish feeding time as the fish become very active! If you’re after something more outdoorsy, listen out for the lyrebirds along the Goodenia Rainforest Walking Track. Don’t forget to sample some of the delicious local produce, our favourite local spot is Waterfront Café, serving up delicious meals 7 days a week with the best view in town!

Rich in goldmining history and dotted with romantic colonial buildings, classic pubs, delightful cafes, and arty boutiques, Pambula is just 20 minutes from Eden! You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in this charming coastal town. Pambula Beach is perfect for all the surfers and body boarders or if you’re more into fishing and snorkelling try Severs Beach. After a busy morning at the beach, head into town to explore the array of boutiques and pick from one of the many cafes for some lunch. Our pick of the bunch is Wild Rye’s Baking Co, with a huge range of bread, baked fresh in store every day!

A thriving community on the coast, Tathra offers wide beaches perfect for swimming and relaxing and crystal-clear waters for diving and snorkelling. Explore the oldest deep-water timber wharf, Tartha Wharf, on Australia’s East Coast and have a taste of the freshly shucked oysters at Tartha Oysters. Enjoy a day of sunshine, sea, and seafood in this charming coastal town.
